{"id":2875,"date":"2023-08-31T12:18:53","date_gmt":"2023-08-31T12:18:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forwardchess.com\/blog\/?p=2875"},"modified":"2023-09-01T11:09:44","modified_gmt":"2023-09-01T11:09:44","slug":"new-feature-forward-chess-author-tool","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forwardchess.com\/blog\/new-feature-forward-chess-author-tool\/","title":{"rendered":"New Feature: Forward Chess Author Tool"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We are happy to announce the beta release of a HIGHLY requested feature: a <a href=\"http:\/\/author.forwardchess.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Forward Chess Author Tool<\/a> for authors to create and edit their very own books on the Forward Chess platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-luminous-vivid-orange-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">What is it?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The new Web Authoring Tool enables you to create a book that can be read and played through on Forward Chess platforms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Some key features:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Import your existing PGN files or paste a FEN<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Insert images, chess diagrams etc<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete text editor with font styles etc<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Download the book content in HTML format for offline use or to upload it elsewhere.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Book content is saved in the cloud so no data loss. This way you don&#8217;t have to modify the TOC every time you change the ordering of chapters.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:28px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-luminous-vivid-orange-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">FAQs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q: I am done writing the book. How do I monetize and publish it?<\/strong><br>A: We are still working on the one-step publishing process. We surely intend to if there is a demand for it. So please let us know!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q: Are there any Image size constraints?<\/strong><br>A: &lt; 2MB<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q: Can I view my book in my regular Forward Chess library?<\/strong><br>A: It will only be accessible from the Web Author Tool until it is reviewed by our team and published with your consent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Q: Do the same board features work? (arrows, engine, highlight)<br><\/strong>A: Arrows and highlights are not supported.
